Freedom is on the hard for the winter :-[

With help from our friend Rich and all the guys at the club we got Freedom on the hard for the winter.  We pumped pink stuff all though her and put things up and in and out as needed.  Looks like we will sail her one more year before bringing her home for a refit.   May not post anything until spring but you never know.  Here are pics of lifting her and moving her, thanks to Sue.

Moving the cradle into place.

There that should work..

Ok, lets mover her to the lift.

Motoring to the lift.

Our turn for the lift.

Almost ready to lift.

Clean her bottom.

Clean some more.

Captain and first mate and a clean bottom.

Line her up.

One last look.

Now at rest for the long Winter.

Last sail of the year, Maybe.

We got out of work early and motored out past the rock and sailed back.  We use the Stars and Stripes spinnaker.  Never got over 1.0 knot.  Super nice evening...just no wind.
Sweet sailing.

Keep smiling.

Cheers

High winds, new experiences learning things

We went out in high winds and tried a few things we have never done before.  We reefed the main and reef the front sail.  Good learning experience for all of us.  Tacked with the south wind to the Rock and just used the front sail and sailed down wind back to port.  Nice ride back.

High winds, Lots of tacking.

Reef the main and only let out half the Yankee, still did over 5 knots.

Did the same thing with our front sail on the way  back and did over 5 knots.

Made it to the rock and that is all today.

Wow,  finally got our Coast Guard Certificate of Documentation.  The Name is official: FREEDOM
